Rainey's Guide to LA
We tapped Los Angeles it-girl Rainey Lancaster to shine a spotlight on her LA go-tos and showcase her California cool-girl style.
Read on for her Q&A…
Describe your perfect day in LA from start to finish.
It would start with coffee in bed with my husband and our golden retriever, Sunny. Then we’d go on a hike nearby our house with stunning views of the West side. Afterwards, we would get breakfast sandwiches at Belwood Bakery or Pops Bagels, pick up fresh flowers at the Brentwood Farmers Market, and more coffee from Cafe Luxxe, Malou Coffee, or Alfred. We’d stop by the Brentwood Country Mart to shop, then hang in our backyard for a bit with Sunny, then go out to dinner somewhere in the neighborhood – such as Great White, which just opened down the street. After dinner we’d get Salt & Straw ice cream, then head home to watch a new show (likely one on Apple TV+ of course).

What’s the one thing you always pack in your tote when you're running around the city?
It’s hard to narrow it down to one thing! I always carry a large tote filled with all kinds of things. My Maison Pearson hairbrush, my AirPods, a lip gloss, tinted SPF, and my wallet are the usual suspects.

What LA restaurant feels like a second home—and what’s your order?
R+D Kitchen in Santa Monica is our favorite date night spot. We really love any Hillstone restaurant, but this one particularly is our favorite. It's mostly tables of 2 inside, so it creates the perfect, cozy date night filled with delicious cocktails and shared bites. Specifically, my cocktail order is a Kettle One extra dirty martini with blue cheese olives, and for appetizers we never skip the dip duo and trout dip. I love the veggie burger or the fish sandwich (but it's only served on certain days!). I've also seen Connie Britton here on many occasions which solidifies it as the perfect restaurant in my book.

The LA look—what are you wearing when you're truly dressing for yourself?
A lightweight, printed midi dress with sandals, a tote, and sunglasses. I’ve always been a dress enthusiast, and love that the LA weather lends itself to wearing dresses year round!
